How not to make eye Contact with a psycho killer

Yesterday evening we all went to London to see Mary Poppins at the theatre ( as part of my Christmas present - and part of Mum's too).

We took the underground train up there and had a meal at Pizza hut prior to the show which was very nice. As there were 5 of us we had ordered one of the specials - whereby you can have several different starters , pizza's and deserts to share.

All was going very well , after our 3rd free gallon refill of coke and 7 up when we suddenly realised that we really should be making a move to get seated for the show. There was no way that we were going to manage ice creams , cakes and other such gooey deserts in about 5 minutes flat - so Malc being Mr " Not so practical " talks the waitress into giving us our deserts ready to go - bad idea!!

When we got to the theatre we had our bags security searched and tagged. Everything was fine until I had to explain why I had a carrier bag full of 32 profiteroles with cream , 2 lots of sticky toffee pudding , banoffee pie and half a piece of pizza !!
I managed to talk my way around and got in !

The theatre itself was huge and beautifully decorated. We had good seats and were able to see the whole stage. We did have to swap around a few times as we ended up with a giant sitting in front of Georgie ( so swapped with Malc) and Mum had the woman with the biggest head and hair in front of her who kept on swaying her bonce from side to side. At one point Mum ( still nursing her Wii injury) was like a pendulum swaying from side to side to see past the woman's head.

The show was absolutely fantastic, the scenery fabulous- everything was really brilliant and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. It was amazing to escape for a few hours into a magical world where you had no worries or cares about anything - great !

When we left the theatre we got back on to the tube to go home. As is per normal on the train after dark you meet some very interesting people!! Mum seems to have a problem on trains - in that she for some strange reason will have a fit of the giggles. The last time we took the kids up we were all hysterically crying with laughter but we have no reason as to why !

I knew she was going to start when" Psycho killer man" complete with donkey jacket and benny hat walked onto the train and sat right by us. He had the strangest, bulbous eyes I have ever seen in my whole life. He sat at an angle facing us and you just know then you are in trouble.

Earlier on in the train to amuse ourselves the kids had been looking at their own reflections in the train windows and as they rose up from their seat it was like the hall of mirrors and their heads and teeth were elongated.

Sam had found this really funny and started giggling( he had also been telling Mum rude jokes I later found out)and then the whole situation deteriorated.Mum hadn't even seen "Psycho man"nor had Sam but she started laughing with Sam and then Georgie started.

As I was in the line of fire directly opposite "Pyscho killer man " I was trying not to laugh. I started to bite the inside of my lip and think serious thoughts which made it worse. "Psycho killer man " continued to stare at this mad family now rolling around on the seats crying - we weren't laughing at him and I'm still not sure what we were laughing at but it was a terrible situation to be in.

There are only so many times that you can look up and survey the tube map and you need to look down and around the carriage without catching eye contact with other people.

I then noticed that the woman sitting next to Sam was smiling and grinning. I just wanted to get off.I started to get red and really hot and had to take my coat off.

Malc resisted the urge to break out hysterically as his laugh is dreadful. He was ready to deal with Psycho killer man - but by this time we didn't care as we were beyond control.

Psycho killer man very amicably stayed with us until the end of the line, resisted the urge to kill us on mass and then got off the train and disappeared into the night.I expect he has gone home and written on his Blog about the crazed bunch that were on the train on his way home and what a lucky escape he had had!
