Let's hope it's a Happy and Healthy one - with a bit of wealth thrown in for good measure!
Last night we had a quiet affair ( well not really that quiet!)As is traditional we had a Chinese takeaway and then had daft games until our "disco" started which involved wild dancing and a final singing - "Auld Lang - what?" to the chimes of Big Ben and fireworks ( courtesy of the BBC).
It was nice not to have to be working this year, I expect next year will be different. The kids managed to stay awake although they started to flag towards the end.
It was lovely to have so many text messages from lots of friends - some of which were crazy photos - which we had to reply back to of course with even crazier ones!
Malc decide that he would be the "Human birthday cake !" with real candles inserted into his head!!
We then had the " Who can make the most inventive creation using only an Elizabeth Shaw mint wrapper?"
As you can see we had a model Concorde ( which did fly in a straight line)
The Pyramids from Egypt
A golden wedding band
and a Golf club , ball and tee courtesy of Georgie.
This morning I came down to a real stink in the kitchen - at first Sam got the blame! Then I realised that there was a potato in the bottom of the cupboard that was past its prime. I then ended up on my hands and knees disinfecting the whole of the cupboard and finding a few other things to throw out too.
In less than an hour I have to take Sam to his last panto and then a party afterwards. It's been good fun although a huge commitment.
Anyway back to the real world - work tomorrow (!) unless the premium bond man decides to call whilst I'm out !!!!
